2021 National Drug Take Back Day Events
The Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is providing information about the Substance Use Prevention Program 2021 Drug-Take Back Events for April 24, 2021. Find the event closest to your community and dispose of potentially dangerous prescription drugs. The DEA also has a search function by zip code for registered Drug Take Back sites, https://takebackday.dea.gov/.
It is important to dispose of unused prescription drugs in ways that are as safe as possible for the environment. In addition, it is also critical to secure and safely dispose of prescription drugs since adolescents who are experimenting with or using substances, curious children, and adults who may have a substance use disorder have access to them in homes. Let’s clean out our medicine cabinets and turn in prescription drugs.
